A Skedaddle to Minnesota

I'm finally brushing off the dusty keyboard (it's almost been a month since my last blog post!) and sharing about our trip up north to Minnesota. We like to sneak away during the sizzling part of Texas summer and go up to visit my family and friends. Luke got his own seat this time (since he's over two!) and that made flying so much easier. Own seat + iPad + treats + the excitement of being on an airplane = one happy camper.

I started out the trip with a girl's weekend at a cabin with some of my dear childhood/high school friends. It was so lovely to catch up, eat delicious food, have some girl time, and enjoy the lake :) I think I took about 3 pictures the entire weekend because I was too busy catching up and soaking it in.

After a few days of girl time, I rejoined Josh and Luke at my parents house and we started out a fun + busy week. There was a date afternoon/evening, pool time, cousin time, a park day at the lake, walks, and lots of rest and relaxation (although--of course--less sleep!)

We finished up our week with my cousin's wedding and then a trip to the local county fair. Then, it was time for Josh to pack up to go back to Texas (someone's gotta work, right?!), but Luke and I stayed for another week.

We had more cousin time (full of lots of "learning opportunities" as well as cute antics!) and more time to just hang outside with family. Plus, I also grilled for the first time ever! Sweet corn for the win ;)

ps. don't the kids look happy ;)

When it was time to go, I wasn't quite ready to leave and yet so ready to get back home at the same time. Know that feeling?

All in all, it was such a sweet visit--hardly believing that two years ago we took this chubby baby and just last year Luke was just a bit over one. And next year--there'll be another baby (and cousin!) in the mix. Yikes!

I promise it won't be so long before I send out another blog post because...
1. There is new shop product launching next Tuesday--and I'm dying to share more with you!
2. We know the gender of baby #2--any guesses? I plan on sharing more about that and this pregnancy soon!
