An Introduction

A number of years ago, my cousin Gabe married this wonderful women named Andrea. Not only is she super cute, but she is genuine, sweet, and kind.

Plus, she can sing. Like really sing.

One thing I've always admired about Andrea is her pursuit of not only music, but her her passion for worship.

I think it's absolutely beautiful when you place your passions and gifts in God's hands and see what happens. For me, it's so exciting to see all the cool things that are coming her way--and you can be a part of it! Isn't it fun to walk alongside someone and breath in a bit of their dream?

Right now, Andrea is the process of fundraising for the funds she needs to finish to her new album. I was surprised by the costliness of such a project, but I love to see how her passion + faith is not dampened by such a number!

(ps. at the end of the post, you can check out practical ways to support her!)

Enough of my blubbering, let's hear a little more from her:

Q: Tell us about yourself and your music?
A: My name is Andrea Olson. I am first a Wife and a Mommy to a sweet 21 month old little girl (my husband is sweet, too, of course!). I love being a stay-at-home Mom and homemaker. A few little tidbits about me...I love to cook and bake and try new recipes. I love coffee. Too much, probably :) I love to laugh. My husband makes me laugh more than anyone else, and I’m so grateful for that. I am also a worship leader and a songwriter, which has been a passion of mine for a long time. In addition to leading worship in churches and wherever God leads, I love to share my passion with others through teaching and mentoring young aspiring musicians and worship leaders.

I would love to tell you a little bit about my music. If there was an acoustic pop worship genre...that would be me! :) My style is kind of a mix. But, I also find myself enjoying the simplicity of just piano and a voice...because its not about a big show with great instruments. We want to bring our best to God, yes, but its about worshipping God and giving Him the glory that He deserves. That is probably my biggest passion...above all, no matter what, bringing glory to God.

Q: What is the album about? What prompted you to write it?
A: There is something so amazing and so powerful in worship. And I want to provide a way for people to have those quiet moments in His presence, wherever they are. That is what God has called me to...to somehow (by His grace alone) create an atmosphere of worship where people are drawn into His presence and ministered to. My prayer is always that people would not see me in those times of worship, but that they would see Him, and encounter His presence in a new way.
So, that’s really where this album started. I want to give people a resource so they can have those moments of worship, even for a minute...in their car, at the office, on the radio, in church...wherever they are. God opened up the doors for me to record an album in Nashville, with an amazing producer and songwriter. So, I have written 6 brand new songs (along with my producer) and the album is on its way!
The music is all about worship and what it means to trust Him along the way, even when everything else changes. The songs were all prompted by very personal things that God has brought me through over the past several years. I have had to learn about waiting on Him, trusting His timing and still finding it in my heart to worship Him through challenges. Because circumstances change, but He doesn’t. He’s still worthy of praise.

Q: What excites you most about this project?
A:  Honestly, there is SO much about it that excites me. The whole process has been incredible. I’m excited to see how God provides for all the needs we still have to finish this project. Its an expensive process, but I know that He has called me, so I’m trusting Him to see it through. But, overall, I would say I’m most excited about sharing new music with people. I pray that they are blessed by it and excited to sing along in worship.
