Did you know I have a handy (and handsome) hubby?

Yep.

I sure do.

In fact, he built us this table:

When we moved, we lost a dining area and gained a galley kitchen.

See:

Our former kitchen table (which has now moved on to a new home) was not working in the kitchen. We decided that we wanted a piece that would:
A. Be used as a workspace since we have hardly any counter space in our 50's kitchen
B. Be a table for us to sit at during a meal since we don't have space for a traditional kitchen table.

I showed him some pictures of what I liked, and he sketched some plans and built it! I finished it off with Minwax stain (Provincial) and gave it a few good coats of wipe on poly.

Even though it's simple, we love it! I love the warmth it adds to the kitchen and have also definitely enjoying the functionality :)

What do you think?

ps. my handy hubby will write up a "how-to" post soon :)

ps. Don't forget about the giveaway going on! Go get your name in the hat :)
