Hair Pinterest Challange: Roll, Roll, Roll Your Hair

Gently into curls...
Merrily, Merrily, Merrily, Merrily...

Goodness. Cheese is exploding out of this post today!

Just wait until you see the pictures!

So, after my first hair challenge, I wanted to try something with more instant results! I've seen many tutorials for rag curling hanging out on Pinterest and thought I'd try it :) The last time I rolled my hair with rags/cut up t-shirts was when my hair was short (and I was probably 16-years-old), so I was interested to see what it would look like when it was a little longer.

I started with wet hair. Then, I took some extra fabric remnants and rolled them under my hair. Then, I got silly and looked like this:

poor Mac!

Yes. I am being completely dorky. I blame the Zumba class for my tired-induced weirdness.

They weren't horrible to sleep in, but I can't say I had the best night of sleep with foreign objects in my hair. But, I'm sure they are more comfortable than sponge curlers :)

Then, I woke up and took out the rag curlers.

And I looked like this:

I guess I had fun taking self-portraits of my crazy hair :) Try using the camera on your computer and tell me it's not fun!

Synopsis: The hair ended up in a pony (because it was too poofy and wonky for me!), but I still loved that it gave a little extra cheer to what is usually a very boring ponytail. Also, Josh loved my hair curly, and I was pampered with sweet compliments about it all day :)

Have any of you tried rag curling?

ps. I've got some house projects coming your way...the house is finally feeling a little more like home :)

  1. I used to do this when I was in high school! It is super effective, as long as you put the rags/rolls on the sides of your head and not where you need to sleep on:)
