Forts, Jazz, and Fabulous Food...

Although it's good to be back home and up to my elbows in mod podge, it was so good to take a breather along the Alabama coast and a pit stop in New Orleans.

I shared a little about what was happening last week, but I wanted to tell you a little more about what we were up to!

Before leaving for New Orleans, we toured an old fort and bird watched. Although I'm not a huge fan of birds in large numbers, it was actually fun to watch!

After avoiding getting bird poop on our heads, we headed for a night in New Orleans with my sister-in-law and her boyfriend.

I had enjoyed taking in all the sights and had quite the sensory overload!

I loved the old. The bright. And the fun.

We spent some time at the Maison Bourbon jazz club, and the music was absolutely fantastic.

We took in the square and were amused by all the people who were either visiting the city or enjoying it a little too much!

The next morning, we ate beignets at Cafe Du Monde and drank cafe au lait. So, so good!

Finally, we picked up Mac (who apparently had spent the week barking and now has a bark that sounds like an old seal) and arrived home to a clean house.

Apparently, everyone was tired out--I actually caught Josh mid-yawn (haha!).

I really enjoyed our family vacation--it was a good mix of fun, relaxation, new sights and places, warm weather, good food, and sweet memories!

{ps. I'm sharing at Finding Beauty in the Ordinary's cup half-full party}
