Gallery Wall Fail

You may remember me talking about wanting to make a gallery wall. I talked your ear off about it here.

Actually. You probably don't remember because that was April. And it's August.

Well, a few weeks ago, I decided to work away at the gallery wall and use the frames that I had been collecting for the project. I think I spent about two dollars total (let's just say that our thrift store sells frames for pretty cheap!).

Here was version one of the gallery wall:

Keep in mind that this was a work in progress! Before finishing it up, I wanted to just leave it there and see what I thought about it in a few days. Well, a few days later, and it was down. Although I love the look of gallery walls, our place is too open and it just made the wall look cluttered. I didn't hate it. I didn't love it either.

So here is what our entry "wall" looks like now:

I know this looks way too busy on the right side, but normally there is mail and other junk on the left side. I cleaned it up just for you!

I know a mirror is kinda boring. Yet, I like the simplicity and it helps make the space look a little bigger (rather than cramped). I still kept a few of the frames from the wall on the table just for fun!
