Meet Miss Sunshine

I call her Sunny.  It seems to fit!

Sunny is Stella's twin sister and I think the two are quite the pair!  I decided that I wanted to bring a little more yellow into the living room since I put up my big love sign with yellow letters.  I knew that I needed to tie it into the rest of the room.  So, I thought that this stool would make the perfect little side table and would add just the right amount of yellow to the space.

She went from this:

To this (after a few coats of Valspar's "Mark Twain House Yellow"--don't you just love that name!, a few stripes of white on the top, a little distressing, and a coat of wax!):

She's made herself at home by the red chair, and I think that she'll enjoy staying there for a while!

She likes to show off her rays!

Let's get a taste of how a little color can add such a change and give new life to a space! Here's a picture of the corner right before Easter:

Here's one from about a week ago--after the walls were painted in Benjamin Moore's "Quiet Moments" and the love sign put up:

And here's the little corner today:

I'd like to kid myself that I am all about the neutrals. I like neutral; yet, I can't help but add color!  Although the red chair is not my favorite color, I like the challenge of working with what I have and seeing what happens!
And I think that Little Miss Sunshine has brightened up the space, and I am so happy with her!
