I'm a Blogger Dodger

I've been blogging regularly for about a year now. A year. Where has that year gone? I've loved documenting all of my little projects, learning about html (okay, not really loved that), and connecting with so many wonderful people. This little blog stirred my confidence in being creative with what I have, challenged me to think outside the box, and motivated me to start a little business.

Yet, sometimes I get in a funk. You know, when you feel like you've got a great recipe to share, but taking pictures of it is just too tedious. How about when you get this bright idea and then realize about 50,000 people already had it? What if you put much pressure on yourself to write/blog about something that is unique and fun to read? What if, yes, just what if, you start to feel obligated to to your blog--as though you can't do something crafty and not share it? What if you want to sew a pillow cover and just that? What if you'd rather not share how ridiculously unsavvy you are with a sewing machine and how you spend waaaay too much time cutting wonky lines and trying to get all the sides to match? Can anyone guess what I did this weekend?

I'm not going on summer vacation, but I am giving myself the freedom to "unobligate" myself. So, next time I feel like Miss Blogger is heading my way and I really don't want want to talk with her, I'm dodging her!

Has anyone else felt the need to dodge Miss Blogger?

On a side note:  I'd love to feature some reader projects in the few weeks! Does anyone have any cool make-overs? Do you have an Etsy store and would like to do a giveaway? Just let me know--just go to the contact page and send me an e-mail :)

Happy Wednesday!

  1. I know exactly how you feel. It's hard to keep up when you want to take a much needed break. It's hard to do day to day things without thinking about, ooh...I could blog this! Just make sure to give yourself a break from time to time. We all need one :)

  2. Word. i can completely relate. Especially the not feeling like taking pics bc it's too tedious! I tend to go in spurts. Not really consistent. Although I have promised myself never to blog just to blog. I even have a botton at the bottom of my blog that says blogging without obligation. :-)
