Meet Lily: The Side Table of my Dreams!

I had a dream about Lily.  Seriously. I went to bed and dreamt about her. Here's the story: after seeing an awful picture of this little maple side table on Craigslist, I knew that I had to have her!  I had e-mailed the owner, but I didn't hear back from him that evening.  So, while sleeping that night, I literally had a dream that I picked up the table and painted it a soft gray.  In one of those rare occasions that dreams come true, he e-mailed me the next morning and I picked her up. I gave her a coat of the same soft gray that I had used for Georgie, but I didn't use any glaze this time around.  I also avoided the sanding block because I wanted Lily to stay simple, sweet, and solid! Lily was the first piece that I tried Minwax Finishing Paste/Wax on, and I have to say that I really like the results--such a soft luster! And who says dreams can't come true?!

Here's before:

Here's Lily now:

I couldn't resist!

As you can see, I had fun playing around with different staging and showing off Lily!

What do you think?

  10. Love your little lily Nicole. Grey is a good color. What I like about grey is that it lets the items on it stand out. That's why I leave my hair grey so that others will stand out next to me.
